Orchestra Omaha holds a Young Artists Competition during the fall/winter of each concert season. The competition is open to all wind, brass, string, percussion, piano and harp students who reside in the state of Nebraska, as well as identified counties in western Iowa and southeast South Dakota. String players age 9-13 compete in the Junior Division, while string players age 14-18 compete in the Senior Division. Wind, brass, percussion, piano and harp students ages 13-18 compete in the Orchestral Division. The winner in each division will be awarded a solo opportunity on the April 21, 2018 concert, along with a cash prize.
The String and Orchestral Information Packet for the 12th Annual Competition is available for download HERE. Applications for the 2017-18 Young Artist Competition are being accepted until January 10, 2018. Auditions will take place on Saturday, February 24th, 2018.
**Students interested in applying should complete the Online Application Form by no later than 11:59pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.**
